Turning Over a New Leaf

To those of you who think they have the "power",
or are just reluctant to accept reality.
I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!!

I am not your doormat.

I will not allow you to walk all over me.

I decide.

And to those who refuse to see the truth.

I am a KIND and COMPASSIONATE person.

I don't nor will I ever need your validation.

A little birdie told me....

OK...so I am very late getting my Christmas cards done, but I've finally finished. YAHOOOOOOOO!!! We have been so busy lately and there are never enough hours in the day, but now they're done and this is the finished product.

The bird is a stamp I bought at Joann's Crafts, but I only saved the plastic sleeve and threw away the label. I stamped her with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Stampendous embossing powder in Silver Tinsel and Red Tinsel. I used a Hampton Art Stamp for the Merry Christmas sentiment. The birds are cut out with the largest Nestabilities square and for the sentiment I used the largest double ended tag, also from Nestabilities. Underneath the two stamped images I embossed with my Cuttlebug and the Birds and Swirls embossing folder. I smudged a little Cranberry ink from Color Box around the red bird and the embossed piece and used Starlite Silver ink from Dew Drop on the silver card. The red brads are from Basic Grey's Ambrosia collection and the silver brads are Recollections brand. I used a white Merry Christmas ribbon and just tied it around at the top fold.

Now that the cards are finished I can start on another project. I'm thinking about a Dreamboard collage I read about here. It will certainly be something new for me.

Beautiful

Precious!! My hubby took this picture last night of our grandson. He has been out of state at his other grandparents house for three weeks and he got home yesterday. Needless to say, I snatched the little booger from his mama and took him home with me. He is our first grandbaby (we have another due in January), but we are completely and hopelessly in love with this guy. How does one so small bring out so much emotion?

Thanksgiving

What a wonderful relaxing week it's been. Five days off (in a row!!!) and I get to spend time with three of our precious children. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent two days cooking and 30 minutes stuffing ourselves silly, but I loved every minute of the whole process.

Here is me and the three girls. (And the back of Grampa's head) I think hubby was in a hurry to sit down and eat, because he usually lines up shots much better than this.

And here is the front of Grampa's head. Love that smile!!!

This is my wonderful, supportive spouse, stained shirt and all. That's really kind of funny considering how he was asking all us girls earlier in the day if we were going to change out of our flour dusted, turkey juiced clothes into something a little nicer (i.e. cleaner) for dinner.

The day after and I think I will take it fairly easy today. I'm going to start on a quilt I've been planning and if I can channel my card making muse, I may get cranking on my Christmas cards. I know, I know, I'm running extremely late on this, but I haven't been able to nail down my design yet. I'll post pics of both quilt and cards very soon.
